Natural Colour, Not Dyed
The gold in this pearl is its own. It comes from the gold-lipped Pinctada maxima oyster that grew it, and no dye or colour treatment has been used on it at any stage. This matters, because dyed golden pearls are common and look convincing in a photograph. A dyed pearl tends to sit at one flat, uniform shade, and the colour often gathers around the drill hole. A naturally golden pearl varies subtly across its surface and holds its colour for life.
Quality Grade
AAA is the top grade we assign to a loose South Sea pearl. It means a clean surface with no blemish visible to the naked eye, a sharp lustre that throws a clear reflection, and an even golden body colour across the whole pearl.

What This Pearl Suits
At this size the pearl is a statement piece. It works best as the centre of a pendant or a bold cocktail ring where the pearl carries the whole design, and it is large enough to be set with a simple cap or bezel rather than needing stones around it.
The pearl is supplied undrilled, with no hole of any kind. Your jeweller can half-drill it for a ring post or a pendant cap, or drill it through for stringing. Undrilled is also what most astrologers ask for when a pearl is worn for Moon remedies, since the stone is meant to reach you unpierced.
