Bangle Size

The Indian bangle sizing system, from about 2x4 (small) to 2x10 (large), measured as internal diameter.

2x4 is roughly 2.25 inches across the inside; each step up adds about an eighth of an inch. 2x6 and 2x8 are the most common adult sizes.

The measurement is of the bangle's inner circle, not the wrist, so it must clear the knuckles of a compressed hand.

Sizes are not perfectly standardised between makers, so a 2x6 from one workshop can differ slightly from another's.

When you are buying

Measure an existing bangle that fits, inside edge to inside edge, rather than guessing from a chart. It is the only reliable method.
