Side Pendant
A necklace whose pendant sits off to one side rather than at the centre front.
The asymmetry is deliberate, and it makes an otherwise plain strand read as designed.
It works particularly well over a sari, where the pallu falls on one shoulder and a centred pendant would be half hidden.
The pendant has to be weighted or anchored, or it slides towards the front over the course of a day.
When you are buying
Check that the pendant is fixed to the strand rather than free-running. A free pendant on a side-pendant design will not stay where the design intends.
