Chooda
The set of red and white bangles a Punjabi bride wears, given at the wedding and worn for a set period afterwards.
A chooda is traditionally ivory and red, now almost always resin or lac, worn as a graduated set on both arms.
It is put on by the bride's maternal uncle at a ceremony before the wedding.
Kaleere, umbrella-shaped ornaments, are tied to it by unmarried friends and hang from the bangles.

Sized by the compressed hand like any bangle, and worn continuously, so comfort matters more than usual. Pearl and kundan accents are a modern addition to the traditional set.

Bangle
